I was a seasoned corporate executive who in the course of my career, worked in automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, renewable energy and real estate development. My wife and I both worked at multinational companies. The course of my life changed when we discovered Lazada in 2018.
Initially, it started as a sideline. We put up a clothing store for women called SamGar Trading, which offered regular and plus-sized items. It started because my wife struggled to find clothing for herself and was curvy. We went to different stores and realized that it is hard to find affordable plus size clothing. So we decided to go for that niche.
Our sales grew, and they began getting more orders and inquiries for our products. In their first few months, we were just focused on selling. After a successful 11.11 sale, we started producing our own clothing. I was focused on costing and operations, while my wife took care of sales and marketing. We also employed five seamstresses and made a warehouse out of our own home. To be able to fully manage production, I studied the actual process of sewing clothing. Today, I already own 5 stores in Lazada.
My vision is to be a Lazada top seller by providing good quality clothing at a very low price. Customers wouldn’t find the need to go to the mall: with the technology we have now, trends are shifting to a different arena and we are a player in the game. We are trying to adapt and innovate. With the help of Lazada, we will be able to ensure that that vision happens.
