I was an app developer for Apple before I started selling on Lazada. My initial business didn’t do so well and after doing some reading on Quora, I decided to sell online. We started small by testing our first sale with shuttlecocks and my daughter’s milk powder. Once we started shifting boxes of party produce we were then serious about making this a full fledged business. I studied all of Lazada’s tools and implemented them, getting 20% – 100% growth month over month.
My thought process was, we can grow faster if we share our knowledge and grow together with other sellers. I shared my story on the Lazada Community Page on Facebook and from there, Lazada noticed me and selected me to become their ambassador as we share the same vision to build an ecommerce community.
It’s nice to see how our Penang community has grown and benefited from sharing because the world is too big for us to know everything. We started Whatsapp groups with daily sharings and formed a Penang Lazada Community Facebook page to share stories and learn from one another.
When Lazada Express came into Penang, I drop-tested the first parcel to our drop off point on the first day. We are able to learn how to scan together with the Lazada center and ensure everything works smoothly before sharing it to our Penang Group. It is important to bring satisfaction when we see Lazada Express is finally doing well in Penang.
I like to change my daily routine and workflow in ecommerce. Especially when they bring improvement, there’s satisfaction to it. I always like to try new things as my mindset is you never try, never know.
